I am going through some of my step father's estate and could use a hand identifying a trigger guard. I was able to identify most of his inventory, but I am having trouble with this piece. I can't seem to find any identifying marks to help me figure it out. Thanks for the help.

That's one of those things that's gonna bug you until you find out.

burrhead, I think you are right on. I was searching google images forever and was able to figure out everything except that one. Thank you so much for your help.

Got to go with burrhead's call too. First thing I thought of when I saw it was it looked like it came off of a Remington of some sort.

It looks like a Mossberg shotgun tg if my memory serves me (and it often doesn't). I gave that shotgun to my daughter so I can't really check it right now. I've seen that pattern of the two action screws at either end and a smaller hold in front of the trigger before. It wasn't on a Remington because I've never owned a CF Remington. But I have seen it and the Mossberg is the only thing that comes to mind right now.
