Now that's my idea of a varmint rifle! Any gunsmith's mark on it? How is the caliber marked on it? How does it shoot?

Had a very similar rig many years ago, a '98 Mauser-actioned .220 Swift with a 10X Fecker 1-1/4" scope

Thanks all. The ser # was off the rifle. The LGS has a asking price on the whole package 700.00. I don't own it yet and thats why I value all of your opinions. It's just so intriguing up here in our neck of the woods I had to ask.

Float Pilot: I'm closer, but I'm broke.

Had I money, I'd break my arm getting the cash out.

Deadeye, do you know exactly what 6 mm cartridge this is chambered for?

Not having my readers and short on time the the tag just said 6MM. What else would their be in 6MM other than an AI? The rifle is what caught my eye but seems the scope has caught some attention.

The scope is a Unertl 1.5 target scope 12 power. 6 mm remmington. Made offer and put behind the counter till the big boss gets in tomorrow. I guess I've spent more money in worst ways. I'll keep you updated. Any way to date the rifle off the ser #? Also has a SCARY fine trigger pull. Thanks again.

Now that I own the rifle in question I have been trying to find some good info on Unertl and Flaig rifles. Thanks in advance. deadeye

Springfield Sporter

There should be a serial # on that rifle, maybe under the front scope mount. For a dealer to sell it it has to be there. Al

ODM, serial numbers were not required until GCA '68. However, removal of an existing number has been a crime since NFA 1934...
(By the way, you can see this rifle's serial number on the receiver ring.)

i'll try again
