Help me out - first air rifle

I think I would have to buy an RWS. I have a model 36 that I purchased around 1980. That one is a great rifle. I know the new ones aren't the same German company but I would give them a try.

Any $200 rifle is going to leave you wishing you had spent more initially. I'd say 5-600 would get you a descent rifle. But then, it isn't my money.

Thought the group could inform me on the latest and greatest for my use case and hoping you can bring clarity to the rabbit hole that an internet search leads you down....

I'm interested in plinking (with reasonable accuracy) out to 60 yards. Don't need Olympic accuracy but not beyond "pie plate".
I live on 2 wooded acres with a good backstop.

Squirrels in the 25-30 yard range.

Easy maintenance and good longevity. Replacing small parts at regular maintenance intervals is fine.

Under $150-$200 dollars?

A scope is nice but not mandatory.

Any recommendations appreciated. I don't shoot air rifles currently nor does anyone I know!
a 3000 PSI Barra 1100Z should satisfy your shooting craze
just load up and shoot all-day

should be able to find one used for $200

it's a BIG 9 Lb gun

don't mess around with the other " TOY " airguns, they R not for U

Just use a soft rest or put a towel over your rest.
Or a bag.

There are some side/under lever guns that look decent (TX200) and reportedly are accurate. A little more money but really, the break barrel guns, 15 yards, maybe.
