Hello, I am currently working on a refinishing project. It is a Mauser 93. I got a couple of springs mixed up.

Can someone please tell me the diameter of the sear spring and the magazine catch spring?

I'd probably work if I just tried it either way, but I want to get the right spring in the right place. The length on mine are almost identical, probably because I'm not the first guy to work on this gun. I have a sneaking suspicion that someone tried to make the trigger better on this gun. Probably the thing that tipped me off was the glob of braze on the trigger to remove the first stage! Anyway, I think the trigger spring probably got shortened.

Thanks!

An old trick to help the trigger pull on Mausers is to swap the sear spring with the floor plate catch spring. Originally the sear spring is the stiffer one.

Mauser sear springs differ a bit but Kuhnhausen's Shop Manual has .25" diameter x .70" long.
