i have a smith&wesson model 13-2, .357 magnum, 3" barrel. what is it, a square butt or round butt and how do you tell?

Yep, look there and take off the grips if it has big wrap-around rubber ones.

If it is a factory barrel (not a modified one), it SHOULD be a round butt.

Yup...if Factory 3 inch Barrel, then would be a Round Butt.

4 inch Barrel ones were Square Butts.

Possibly some Special Order 13s could be otherwise.

Personally, I think they should have offered any variation a person could want, of Barrel Lengths from 2 to 10-1/2 inches, and in either Butt syle, and with Target Sights as an option.

They made a few 4" guns with round butts. I have seen a lettered one. 13-2, four inch tube, round butt.
