Stopped by the lgs yesterday and they had a Henry 45/70. The wood was pretty nice and the fit seemed good also. Anyone have any experience with these? Seems like a pretty good bargain.

I was reading a magazine article about them the other day, I believe it said they were basically a scaled up version of the Marlin 336 with a few changes. Pretty interesting, I wonder where on the price spectrum they land?

Never been a fan of the tube load. It just looks strange in anything other than 22lr to me

+1, which is why I'm saving longer to get a Winchester 1886, otherwise Henry would have had my business a while ago.

The actions on these rifles are very slick. But, like the other guys, the tube load is a deal killer for me. I'll stick with my 1895. Awesome gun and can be had for a lot less.

I have several tube fed rifles... I must be missing it too:) That is a sweet rifle and is on my gun bucket list.

Love my 1895, but I've been keeping an eye on the Henry's for about a year. Glad to see they are starting to show up. I'm gonna make some calls and go try to put my hands on one this weekend.
