Well, I recently picked up a Henry Big Boy in .357 and I'm extremely pleased with the fit, finish, and overall quality of the rifle.

Gorgeous wood, a rich deep blue, and the brass receiver make this thing a pleasure to look at. Hopefully it's as much fun to shoot as it is to look at!

Boy is she heavy too! Given the weight I wager 38's will feel like .22's.

Nice, I recently had one. They are very nice and definately have a nice heft to them....which I like. and they are accurate

Fondled one at the LGS just yesterday. Very smooth action just like my Henry .22.

I'd prefer to have a side-loading lever, but I may make an exception and pick up a Henry 357. Given the outrageous prices people are asking for some other brands, the Henry seems to be a value.

I think I prefer a receiver loading rifle as well. However, this sort of rounds out my pistol caliber lever guns and I thought having one that loads through the tube is a neat addition.

I have a Big Boy in 44 magnum and a Big Boy carbine also in 44 Mag. Shooting 44 special out of these guns is almost as soft as a 22LR!

They are very beautiful works of art. Enjoy yours!

Mark.

I am a guy with Marlins in .22, .30-30, .357, .44 and .45, so I am used to lever guns. In the past I haven't been too receptive to the new Henrys, but I am slowly changing my mind. The brass frame looks great, but is heavier and will require more maintenance. The steel frame looks like what I would be interested in. Loads like my .22 Marlins.

Brass frame requires no more maintenance, just let it age gracefully into a nice well-used patina. :)
