Would like to hear from folks who have put Herco thru a .44 mag. And what Herco recipe you like? They will be going thru a S&W 629 8 3/8 bbl. I already bought 1000 240gr Berry's plated HP.

HERCO WORKS VERY WELL IN 44MAG HANDLOADS FOR MEDIUM LOADS.
With that being noted I have only used cast bullets with those medium velocity, 1100fps, loads. Extensive testing in MY guns showed HERCO to be all but unexcelled in the accuracy it delivered with those cast bullets. These tests included ALL the popular faster burning pistol powders from Hercules, W-W, and Hodgdons.
With 240gr jacketed bullets I have found the numerous popular 44MAG slow burning propellents to flattout work better with any and all the jacketed bullets I have tested over the past 40 years.
In your guns, who knows. Maybe you'll find a load that'll tickle your fancy.
