Hi Standard early push button 22

Friend has a Hi Standard early push button that goes to slide lock open after every other shot.I replaced the slide spring which didnt help.According to numricks,no spring holds the slide lock lever in the down position.Suggestions?

That is not correct.

You are missing a tiny little microscopic coil spring that does in fact hold the slide stop down until the mag follower pushes it up.

BTW: Order two or three while you are at it.
You will lose the first one before you get the grip put back on!
