I was out looking for a cheap .22 revolver today and found a High-Standard Double Nine. it is a w-100 model serial 842XXX. I guess you could say blued finish (barrel has nice color but the frame is painted aluminum I think) It has a color case hardened trigger and hammer and a nice set of ivory look grips with a High-Standard medallion. It is a nine shot Double action with a swing-out cylinder. It looks like a SA to me, in fact when I asked to see it I asked for the High-Standard single action (I felt a little stupid when the guy opened the cylinder).
just wondering if anyone can give me an approximate date of manufacture.
Thanks
Matt

I can't but I've had one since the very early 1960's since it was new. Fine, utilitarian llittle firearm. More accurate than one could expect. It has served me very well indeed.

Seem to be in the $150-$200 range or so at gun shows now.
