High Standard Supermatic Citation

Well gents we had a gun show this weekend and finally found an old High Standard. The trigger would not reset and barely moved and the safety was stuck. It was filthy and the last lube had hardened and everything was stuck bigtime. Got an excellent deal considering. Later I took it apart the best I could, flying spring and all, and went to the range. It grouped great. Just a few issues I think related to recoil spring. Where is the recoil spring and how do I get to it? I can't find anything on the net that shows how to remove the slide and total break down. Also how can I find out the model number as the seller knew very little about it? Thanks as always. C

You might be able to determine which model you have from the model listings.
Follow the public data link and check the "High Standard survivor files *. Your pistol might be listed there by serial number.
If the above is no help, ask on the public forum.

There are down loadable manuals there once you determine the model series.

BTW: On my pistol, you lock the slide with the safety, depress the lever under the barrel and remove it (barrel) from the frame, then undo the safety and the slide comes of the front of the frame.
