Just set my DVR to record "Top Shot" on the History channel Sunday night. Will air at 9 pm Central. Couldn't find anything in the search on this, so if this has already been posted I apologize.

It's being advertised as "sharpshooters" competing in recreating famous shots through American history. I'm assuming that they'll use the same type of firearm that was used in the original shot.

I would love to see them recreate the Lee Harvey Oswald shot, but I can't imagine they'd do it. Anyone else going to watch this series?

I plan on watching just to see how they have it set up. Hope they are using period correct weapons at least. Sounds like a good show.

History Channel comes up with some terrific stuff!

I'm not sure about the Lee Harvey Oswald "shot" but I'm sure it will be an interesting series.

It looks like they will have participants working in teams. That does not sound too good to me...too American Idol-esque where a group can be eliminated even if individuals within the group are quite good. If they run Top Shot like that, I will be disappointed even if I enjoy seeing what they are shooting and the challenges.

I seem to recall watching a documentary on Kennedy's assasination (no it wasn't by Oliver Stone ) where they tried to recreate the shot conditions, but I don't remember what the outcome was.

It should be an interesting show, and I hope they showcase some interesting weapons.

It would be pretty humorous to see Simon Cowell harping on them for their shooting performance. "That was terrible, I felt like I was watching a shooting gallery operated by monkeys at an amusement park"
Looking forward to the show. I hope it'll be good but we'll see.

"That shot was pitchey, Dawg" LOL

My wife unfortunately watches that Ca-Ca.

I'm skeptical....so many of these shows the producers spend more time trying to show the weaknesses of each persons character than their skills and abilities. Hope they don't portray the shooters as dysfunctional clods like they did with Orange County Choppers and Jimmy the swamp logger.

Perhaps next season they'll merge the Top Shot winners with Monster Quest? We'll have Bigfoot, bagged, tagged and mounted in no time!

Hmmmmmmm.....I felt like I was watching a promo for "Ice Road Truckers", which before I saw it looked pretty cool, but after I saw it, turned out to be a bunch of guys loading and driving trucks. No offense to any that do that, but the hype was more than the reality.

I hope they get into more of the history of the weapons, etc, but this looks to be another elimination, reality TV show. Guess we'll know come Monday morning.

The History Channel did a good job with "Tales of the Gun" and the one or two shows they did on "sharp Shooters" so I have hope.

Anyone watch "Top Shot" on History Channel right now?

I did a search, but the search function just lead to a white page...

They're shooting a Mosin-Nagant, Springfield 1903, M14, and a Soviet rifle.

Pretty cool so far
