silly me, i thought top shot was going to feature champion shooters making champion shots. instead i see a bunch of drama queens with weapons, missing simple 50 meter shots with an 03 springfield. Alvin York must be rolling in his grave

So I guess I will see you in season 2 show them all up. Right?

Somewhere in the final episodes the competition will use Desert Eagles and suppressed pistols.....(if the previews are any indication).

JJ did phenomenal with the throwing knives!

Even after a bad practice. Everyone is crapping on the "bad shooting" well I do not know any of you but how many of you have had to compete on a reality show with such a variety of weapons? Can I make a guess... NONE OF YOU.

JJ Showed that a true competitor can come up with what it takes to win when the chips are on the line and the misses that everyone sits back in their lazy boys and points and laughs show that even seasoned shooters can miss under pressure.

Quiz shows / reality shows? Yes. Absolutely. If you have any proof to the contrary, post a link. Seriously. Come on man.

Last comic standing. It's true that the FCC (useless organization by the way) supposedly keeps contests from being rigged but they can't get around the dozens of pages of legal mumbo jumbo the contestants have to sign which can essentially do the same thing. During last comic standing, the judges were supposed to decide which contestant won. The fine print said that the producers of the show really made the call and not the judges. When they announced who won, Drew Carey (one of the judges) flipped out on camera because the producers selected the person they thought was the most marketable and not the person who was actually won...as selected by the judges. They didn't air the final show until later because it made them look bad.

I'd say that falls into the "rigged" category. Those old quiz shows were rigged in the show's favor which is different (and more like theft) . These days they pay out the money to a winner but they still rig the shows. There's a lot of money on the line.

I believe Top Shot is legit....but you're absolutely kidding yourself if you think that most reality television has anything to do with reality (including who wins). Reality tv is pretty much a bunch of crap anyways.

I think using a 44 mag revolver might be an interesting twist with timed fire and hits to win. Maybe it would be billed as the Dirty Harry episode?

Slingshots were a bit cheesy IMO. Seemed almost like a wasted episode considering there are 7 or so left and only two episodes. I think they could have made it a better episode and eliminated two competitors...basically do more with the episode than they did.

It does look like the last two episodes are pretty action packed...hopefully that is the case.

Personally, I thought it was an interesting twist. Perhaps because I think I could have done fairly well. I grew up throwing knives and shooting my Wrist Rocket slingshot before I was allowed to shoot firearms on my own.

What I really like about the show (I'll freely admit that there are things I don't like) is the challenge of having nothing but a brief introduction to a weapon and then having to compete with it. I really wish I could spare the six weeks or so to participate in season two. I had the audition application all filled out - even building the foundation for what I thought would have made an appealing character - but just decided that I couldn't forego six weeks with my family (family vacations, holidays, etc.) just to be on TV.

In my mind, Kelly really demonstrates what the show seems to be based on - an individual who can pick up virtually any weapon and do fairly well with it. Most of the others have struggled with that in one way or another.

I kind like all the complaints about how Top Shot is showing off slingshots, bows and other weapons other than firearms.

I thought it was the mindset and the skill that makes the difference, not the firearm...

Even though the slingshots and throwing knives are kind of "meh" the episode still managed to be entertaining.

If you actually took the time to read this thread, the credentials of the competitors have been hashed out several times already.

This latest episode is more like it: So far, nothing but shooting competitions (that lit-fuse challenge looked INTENSE) and nobody's riding their drama llamas.

While I can not speak for others here, I shoot Archer, Blackpowder and All sorts of modern arms. I have won military rifle championships and scored Expert.
So when I call them on their poor shooting I am qualifed to do so.

I wonder if i'm the only one but for the fuse competition I would have actually tilted the gun "gansta style" so I don't have to worry about elevation issues hitting something so small.

About Time!!!......finally an episode worthy of the shows title without the stinking drama.
