OK first I will admit this was proably my first adventure with Crags List (Dallas Texas) in the Hog hunting arena. The ad read Hog hunting on an EXOTIC Ranch east of Dallas. Well what it should have said was hunt EXOTIC GAME on a Ranch east of Dallas. A little bo bo on there part. Long story short that hog hunt cost me $1500.00 by the time it was over. NO HOG shot. Just be careful when you line up a Hog Hunt, and make sure what the cost will be per hog, Trophy Hog cost........ask quesitons!!!!!!! There are a lot of people out there that are mis-representing there hunt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Craigs list is a general buyer beware on about anything. I found a good hunt some years back when I had the urge, two day meat hog hunt just south of San Antonio, 3 hogs 100 lbs or less, $180 and even included a bunk in the bunk house. I killed all three the first day. I got that out of the Houston Chronicle.

WOW ! The economy must be REALLY bad ! Chargin' money to hunt feral pigs !!!:scrutiny: There are ranchers/ farmers in OK. that let you hunt them for free ! I have several places in SE OK. that will let you load up. The darn things are pretty smart, once a couple of their brothers & sisters start dropping they usually high tail it for the thick cover. Sorry your hunt didn't go so well .......

It has taken me about fifteen years to build a network of fellow hunters and rancher/ farmers who will allow hunters onto their property. You really have to get out and hustle to get the ball rolling. Offer to help repair fences etc.

HM, sorry to hear of your experience. The feral hog problem is so severe that if you get the right connection then the land owner is likely to have a 'shoot 'em and leave 'em' attitude. Search THR and TFL for user Yathrib for more on central Texas hog hunting.
