I was step up on a property when light drizzle first hit and not having a blind, decided to pack up and go home. However, there are a few properties that I hunt between where I was hunting and home and I happened to spot a group of hogs on one of those properties. While I don't enjoy hunting in the mist and rain and I really despise dragging hogs out over muddy ground, there wasn't any way I was going to leave hogs out in the field without attempting to go after them. Fortunately, winds weren't a problem, the rain lightened to a heavy mist (for a while) and I was able to approach within a reasonable distance...

Very cool video.

how do you like the brass catcher?

I have used Tactical Brass Recovery brass catchers for 5 years or so (you can check my old vids and see). Last year, I became associated with them after Lew, the owner, saw that I was mentioning his product in my videos. I like to mention any gear that I use that works well. So occasionally, I will mention things like the metal detector I use, knife brand, etc. along with gun stuff. Anyway, before I answered, I wanted to disclose that TBR has been good to me for promoting their gear, but that I was a fan before that happened.

Anyway, YES, the TBR brass catchers are good kit. Mine stay on my rifles except when I am cleaning my rifles. They are a bit pricey, but if you shoot much, or value your brass (my Grendel once fired cases sell for up to 30 cents each), the brass catcher will pay for itself. Personally, I don't like leaving brass behind on the ground on other people's property and it can be a pain in the butt to try to find spend brass in the grass. So the brass catcher is really a good way to go.

I did manage to break one a couple of years ago. Generally speaking, I am not gentle on my gear. So I contacted TBR and they had me send it in and they replaced the part, no charge.

Look, I don't care what the hogs are doing before you shoot them, but you must have some randy hogs round your way..........;)

Nice shootin', Tex!
