A little while back I saw a bullet mold on eBay that interested me. It was the Lee 220 gr 456 for the Ruger Old Army. There was one difference...it was a Hollow Point.

That 2 cavity Lee mold went for almost $90.00 when shipping was added. I was aghast. It did prove that at least some people were very interested in such a mold.

Would anyone here be interested in dual cavity, Cramer style hollow point mold from MP molds designed for the Ruger Old Army? The cost would likely be $85.00 or $90.00...go figure.

I have one of their hollow Point molds in .452 that is about the best mold I've ever used.

Lee will do a custom for $100 and mould cost. The $100 is for the cherries, so a group buy to offset the initial $100 would make the cost about the same as any other mould they make.

I really like the Cramer style HP. I don't believe Lee does that. Also, the MP's are brass...which is a wonderful material for bullet molds.

I have a single cavity Lee .457 HP mold I bought years ago, cast with it just last night in fact. The hollow in the point is rather small and I don't know if it'd do more than look cool, but the bullet is accurate. I also have the non-hollow point version. What I really like about 'em is they're pre-lubed with Lyman BP lube (beeswax, I think), no crisco.

I would absolutely love to have a HP version of the BigLube DD/PUK/ROA-II 210. The MP mold I have has a very large HP. It also gives you the choice of a round or 5-sided HP. Both pins came with the mold. The quality is incredible. The dual cavity Cramer design makes casting fast and easy.

BP HPs

Someone (Speer I believe) makes a "flying ashtray" jacketed HP for a 45 ACP. This is a .452 grain Jacketed bullet with an extremely large HP. This is a JHP but if one is having a mold made, One could use the JHP as the clone for the mold build.

452 is little loose for a Walker or a ROA but if one were to crud the gun up a little maybe on the second or third cylinder? It seems you would have to push a fair amount of powder to replicate 45 ACP velocities out of a BP gun.

Here's what I want to have happen. Get a mold for a HP BigLube 210gr. And....get a tip made for my ROA rammer that reverse fits the profile of the bullets hollow point. That way when I drop in the bullet, it would automatically self center and loads straight.

I know a tip can be made for the rammer as I have one Banana River that is longer for reduced loads. The standard length rammer is too short for reduced loads and the ball or short bullet won't bottom.

Oh yeah...a big-opening 240, 250, 260 Grain Hollow Nose of around .454 or so would be great for the WALKERS, Dragoons, and, for older .45 ( Long) Colt chambering Revolvers.

At I imagine nearly 1000 fps on 3f BP in the Dragoon, or in a .45 LC long Barrel Revolver, it'd be a dandy self defence Bullet.

Any old Mould can be converted to be making Hollow Point or Hollow Nose too, though one looses some weight of course from the original fuller Bullet weight when not having the hollow.

This way also, one can have any degree or diameter of Hollow Noce one wants.

Various places offer the Service.

A Full Wadcutter would be nice also, in .454 and 260 or so Grains...as would a Hollow Nose Wadcutter, vis a vie a Hollow Nose Round-Nose or Semi-Wad sort.

I definitely want such Molds, and, to be able to cast such Boolits.
