Holster belts

I have a 5.11 brand casual leather belt. It has a plastic stiffener inside , and works well for $39.99.
I may buy another more expensive gun belt later when funds are available.

I have been wearing a Relentless Tactical "Ultimate Concealed Carry" belt. I can't think of anything bad to say about it.

If a gun belt is not made from at least 14 oz. (1/4 in. thick) premium saddle leather - it's not a gun belt. It's just a rip off.

My personal opinion and a general rule. The more it costs, the better it will function. Leaving out the exotic products or course. If it is a heavy or full sized gun I prefer a reinforced belt. I have had really good luck with these.
For lighter guns and non reinforced leather, Ray at RG leather has been great to work with.

Everyone has their favorites. Point is to have a favorite gun belt. I'm all-in with TT Gunleather.

I'm in plainclothes (coat and tie) and have worn the same garrison belt for the past eleven years. I purchased it at my local police supply store. The Safariland's go for about $30. It looks like a dress belt but has the attributes of a gunbelt.

Hi...
I have been using a basket weave leather belt I bought from the NRA.
I carry a full size 1911 in .45ACP.
It has worked great for several years. I do not carry everyday since I retired but almost always when I leave the house.

The belt has not sagged at all and it is stiff enough to keep my holstered gun in place and is very comfortable.

I like the Vedder Cobra belt for casual, and I have a Bigfoot black leather belt with steel insert that is splendid and a bit more dressy..

Both are 1.5” belts and can be a tight fit in some belt loops. The Bigfoot is over .25” thick so you may want to double check that it’ll fit through your holster’s loops..

I’m now looking at adding Bigfoot’s newish 1.25” belt for IWB carry of the diminutive Sig P365 in a Vedder LightTuck and/or a leather OWB pancake holster. Seems like more makers are coming out with 1.25” options, which do look a bit less tactiKewl if that matters in your case.

Commo

I’ve been lucky and found some nice well-built heavy leather belts at local area guns shows that are every bit as nice as name brand belts for a quarter of the cost. For screwing around I-don’t-care belt I use the Wilderness Instructor.

I just bought a couple 1.75" belts on Ebay from an Israeli company. They look good, the price was right, and are very well made. I just wish I had more holsters that could use them.

I see so many people and even reading it on this thread where they have to have that "reinforced" belt. They don't realize that the mass produced belts by larger makers and retailers are many times just layered together and lined to cover up the nasty flesh side of the leather and so they can use lesser quality and inferior import leather and get the same feel for stiffness.

You don't need that with a quality leather belt and it's much more comfortable to use a belt constructed of heavy skirting, harness, or bridle, leather and let it conform to your body. Not only is it more comfortable the way the belt forms to your body helps keep the gun positioned as much or more than the stiffness of a belt. In other words if the strap of leather will hold the saddle on a horse or pull a cart it's dang sure going to hold a gun weighing a few ounces on your side.

I wouldn't dare point out any vendors in particular but the point is you don't always get what it looks like. Someone pointed out their belt came from a local gun show vendor and if they are a custom maker that is where you are going to be guaranteed the quality of the product you are buying because it's their name on it and you can get a "feel" for what you are purchasing.
