Hey, I have been thinking about a home defense shotgun. I was wondering if anybody has made a short barrel shotgun with a standard stock on it? To me, it would look pretty mean and be a little fun to play with on top of being a good firearm for home defense.

I would also prefer to have a non-rifled barrel to shoot buckshot out of it if I decide to do so.

What I am asking is, Does anyone have any pictures of said SBS with standard stock?

I bought a Mossberg 500 Field/Security Combo last year. It came with a 28" barrel, a 18.5" barrel, wooden stocks, a pistol grip and a few chokes with a choke wrench. If you want a full stock shotgun with a short barrel that would be a good choice IMO. The whole setup cost me less than $250.

Couldn't find pics of a super shorty with a butt stock. It would be kind of cool, though, in a Boba Fett sort of way.

personaly i like my mossberg 590, it has a 20" barrell chambered in 12g, it holds 9 shots and comes with a pistol grip and full stock. its a beast. i have the marinecoat finish on mine, because not only does it work as a home portection gun it doubles as my boating gun.

I dont have a photo to show but about 30 years ago I bought a Model 37 Ithica 12 GA. Shotgun with a "Deer Slayer" Barrel.....18.5" The gun was made in 1966 and I bought it with the extra barrel for around $100.

The year is significant in that I can hold the trigger and pump and thegun will fire as fast as I can pump it.

The old model was and is extremely reliable. Many departments used it as a riot gun. I have hear several Viet Nam era vets say they used one during the war as a riot / close range weapon and others used it to shoot and explode mines.

My last visit to my local gun shop had at least 5 Ithica Model 37's 3 of them had the deerslayer barrel as an extral barrel.
