OK, I need some advice/opinions. Am thinking about getting back into shotshell reloading. Used MEC 600 Jr/650 loaders some years back but am leaning toward buying a Hornady 366 Auto Progressive (20 gauge) this time. Comments? The only negative I have heard about the 366 is inability to remove shell in mid-cycle if something goes wrong. Is that really a problem? Thanks in advance.

ps: I have a pair of Hornady LNL auto progressive presses for loading pistol calibers.

Good shooting and be safe.

My biggest complaint is no case sensor at shot and powder stations. Then when you dump shot all over the place you have to remove the shell plate and shells to clear the deck.I bought a used one and it is cantankerous at times, but those who buy new ones seem to like 'em.
The older ones don't automatically adjust the primer seater for different hulls, and no primer shut off.I understand these are up grades to older ones, and may be std. on newer ones.
What's your estimated need for volume?the trapshooters on trapshooters.com prefer pw's and spolars.More money but more machine is the gist.If you're only shooting 10 boxes a month,a mec will serve you just fine.

The ability not to pull a shell out is a BIG problem for me. If something goes wrong I want to fix it right then, not hope I watch it go around and catch the right one coming off the press. For this reason alone I won't own a 366. Not having a case activated powder and shot drop would have it in the garbage.

The MEC 9000G addresses all of these points. It isn't a PW or a Dillon, but it is a good quality fully functional press. For $300 they are a great value. I own a couple and can't complain about the function or durability.

I now use a PW but used a MEC for 15+ years.
For the money I believe that the MEC is very hard to beat
