Hornady, what the heck

Keep it to yourselves, but I'm pretty sure they are announcing the new ELDx-X (Xtra-Xtreme) line of bullets.

These revolutionary titanium tipped bullets are the next step in long range shooting and hunting. The ELDx-X line sports radical G7 BCs of 0.6 and up, along with Xtra heavy weights* for more on game smackdown at ranges out to 2,000 yds where today's discerning, Kuiu clad hunter thrives.

* A barrel twist rate of 1:3" or faster is recommended for proper stabilization.

The first offerings in the ELDx-X line are slated to be:

- 120gr .224
- 150gr .243
- 200gr .264
- 250gr .284
- 300gr .308
- 400gr .338

Personally, I'm very excited, can't wait to get my hands on a box!
They also have a hole drilled sideways so it can double as a sewing needle.

Do y'all remember when Hornady was going to change "everything" about shooting with their new bullets...which turned out to be the new ELDs. Apparently, the tips on all their other bullets were defective and melting in flight (no proof shown, but that is what they said). So instead of just replacing the tips, they made a slightly different bullet with a new tip that does not melt (ELD). Now they have all their old defective tip melting ammo that is still sold and ELD ammo, LOL.

Not accurate here at all.

1) The ELD line replaced the A-Max line, which is no longer sold.

2) Hornady absolutely DID simply replace the tips in many A-max bullets and relabel them as ELD’s. Many new ELD’s were new, many were just retipped A-maxes.

It's a new 8 station progressive with a power drive and includes a combo feeder/collator that feeds cases and bullets at the same time, priced under $1000.

Id be happy with a 7 station Hornady press for about $700 to be honest.

Maybe it is a line of bonded SP bullets? They are lagging behind in that category. I would like to see bonded 62 and 75 gr in .224”, and 120 gr and 140 gr in .264”, and 150, 168, and ,180 gr in .308” from Hornady. They typically sell their bullets much cheaper than Sierra and Nosler so I would expect their bonded SP to actually be affordable in qty.

Not accurate at all.:D

1) The ELD MATCH did replace the A-max line that is no longer sold. Only the A-max line is gone and it wasn't replaced with just ELD, but ELD MATCH.

2) Hornady did NOT simply replace the tips. The did make some changes. For example, on the .30 cal, the Ogive is different 168gr A-Max = .645" 168gr ELD Match = .655" In the Grendel, the G1 BC went from 0.51 for A-max to 0.506 for ELD-Match

3) Another part of the ELD line, the ELD-X is a slightly improved bullet design with a new tip. This is one of their hunting lines of bullets.

4) Another line of hunting bullets, the SST is still manufactured by Hornady with the old, defective melting tips. So while they make the ELD Match ammo and threw away A-max ammo, they still make SST ammo but do not make ELD-X ammo at this time. The SST bullet and ammo line has not been replaced by the the ELD-X despite supposedly being so superior.

5) Another hunting line, the V-max, is still made with the old defective melting tips. https://www.hornady.com/ammunition/varmint-express#!/

Hornady is most definitely still selling old models of ammo with defective tips that melt. So when Hornady puts out a teaser like they did for the ELD line, it is hard for me to get too excited. The new tip they came out with didn't revolutionize shooting. They built it up to be this amazing game changer and it really isn't. It was a tweak.

I'm guessing its the same old bullet and powder they are just putting a fancy name on it like Black, Outfitter, LeverEvolution, Superformance to get people to run out and buy it. I jumped on the superformance bandwagon with a few boxes and they shot terrible and cheaper V max shot way better. Same bullet probably just another powder.

A new super-size vibratory tumbler, but it looks still smaller than Lyman's.
A 7mm GMX and some other ELD stuff.
Some micrometers
375 Nitro Express brass
Some lockboxes

They’re changing the color of their presses from Red to Blue in order to be more competitive.

Or........pink.........then we have baby blue and pink. ;)

or a new A-tip bullet....big wow. buy some and you have to buy a new stem for your
your new Aluminum tipped bullets.....and plan on buying Hornady's dies too to fit the new stems if you don't use Hornady dies.
