I have a PPK/S, and it feeds both Hornady and Remington reliably. I switched to Golden Sabers because A) it is a heavier bullet and B) the 'backyard' expansion info that is all over the internet showed that the GS is a better expander than the Hornady (Which is inherent to the Hornady design, IIRC. Less expansion in favor of greater penetration). I was just curious to hear what other .380 carriers, particularly those with PPK or PPK/S though about the two bullets, which they preferred, which performed better, etc. I like the Hornady XTP's, but am leaning toward keeping the Golden Sabers as my defensive load. Any comments/concerns are appreciated. Thank you.

I had feed problems with the Remingtons in my wife's Ruger LCP. So I stuck with the Hornady Critical Defense for her and the TAP for myself. Both use the XTP I believe. I prefer the penetration through clothing etc thanks to the weak but concealable 380 option. She carries the Hornady CDs now and I carry the TAP. NEVER a FTF from either and accuracy is outstanding.

Thanks for the quick replies. I am admittedly new to the 'science' of CCW, and assumed that heavier bullet = better bullet. I like both rounds, and more importantly my gun likes both rounds, I am just trying to make an educated decision based on more than the "brand x is the best in .380" stuff that seems to be all over the internet.
