How Difficult Would This Be?

This is entirely a thought exercise at this time, but bear with me.

One of the items on my SHTF/Kerry wins list is an AR-15 lower. If evil triumphs, and the AWB is renewed, I'll probably go for one with the standard A2 buttstock.

If the AWB dies, however, I'd try to get one with an M-4 style collapsible buttstock. My question is this: If I wanted to put a standard buttstock on this receiver at some point, how tough would it be to do?

It's a 5 minute job. To install or remove a CAR stock, you need the CAR stock wrench, which is a crescent with a pin in one end to turn the locking nut.

To remove and install an A1 or A2 stock, all you need is a large flat screwdriver and a crescent wrench.
