How is this contact on an AR buffer retainer pin?

Thanks for any thoughts on this. I am aware that I can file the extension so that it can go in another turn (would also require the top part to be filed so that the upper can close). I did stake the castle nut and would have to extricate myself out of that mess. I have seen dozens of similar photos on the nut, many in threads where someone says that it looks fine and will hold. Others have reported theirs popping out but they never have a "before" photo to indicate that mine is better or the same.

Instead of worrying about it, I removed tube, filed down both the top and bottom and now have it up to the center pin and the upper can close just fine.
 
If it doesn't come out when you remove the buffer and spring, don't worry about it, unless you think your stock is 1 mm too long :)
 
Extension tube is a bit out of specification.
As long as the retainer doesn't fly out when you pull the buffer and spring it should be OK as is.
