5.8 Chinese = .228"
7.35 Carano = .289"
7.5 French & 7.5 Swiss = .295"

The 7.5s use standard .308 projectiles.

We need a set of parameters to even begin with. Are you asking about cartridges between them based on bore size? Case capacity? Muzzle energy? Commercial cartridges only? Wildcats? Propriety cartridges?

Caliber is not equal to cartridge.

Ya don't go to the store and ask for .45 cal ammo when you want.45-70.

The projectiles used in 7.5 Swiss are not .308" they are .306"....

I’ve used a 30 cal can from Yankee Hill with 300WM, 30/06, 308, 7.62x39, 6.5CM, 6.5PRC, 6.5 Grendel, 243, 22-250, 223, 22 mag, and 22lr. And it has worked great. With the 22lr and CCI subs, you only hear the click of the trigger, then a pause, then the bullet striking whatever it hit.
Thank you, that covers my question well

If you meant cartridges, I will repeat that .218 Bee, .219 Zipper, .220 Swift, .221 Fireball, .222 Remington, .223 Remington, .224 Weatherby, and .225 Winchester are all .224 caliber.
But .22 Jet and .22 Savage are not.
Just got a CZ in .221 Fireball last summer, I might have to sell off my 22-250 Shilen DGA

If you mean different cartridges and include every one that has every been made (including prototypes and wildcats) I would think over a thousand.

It is nice to see that, in this sport where precision is important, that some posts have the terminology correct.
How many calibers depends on decimal places. How many cartridges? That is a different matter entirely.
When you buy a box of ammo, what is in the box? When you load your rifle or handgun, are you loading calibers or cartridges?
Is the magazine capacity of a 1911, six calibers or six cartridges? When you ask for ammo at a LGS, do you ask for a box of calibers?
Note that the title of the book recommended is "Cartridges of the World" not "Calibers of the World".
