I have a Savage 11/111 FCNS .243 with Warne Maxima rings and bases and a Vortex Viper 3x9x40 mounted on it. I bought both brand new less than a year ago. It has the AccuStock and AccuTrigger. Only one box of ammo has been run through it. I've decided to sell it because I don't ever use it. I bought an AR six months before I bought the Savage and use it for the varmint and predator hunting I do. It was never intended to be used for big game because I have a 6.5x55(I use the vast majority of the time), .270, 30-30 and two 30-06's. I plan on selling it in state because their are several forums here where guns sell pretty quick. My problem is I don't know what to ask for it. What would be a fair selling price to both buyer and seller? The rifle and scope are LNIB. If I bought the rifle from Bud's and the scope from Camera Land today the price would be $884.00 plus the cost of rings and bases.

I generally figure on 50-75% of what a comparable new gun would sell for. Leupold and Zeiss scopes or other higher quality scopes about the same. Many cheaper scopes add nothing. Not sure how well a Vortex will do on resale value, but probably at least 50%.

As new as this sounds it should be on the high end, 75% of $884 is about $660. If it were mine I'd probably start at around $700. How much less I'd take would depend on a lot of factors. Just how bad I really wanted to sell it, how badly I needed the money etc.
