Hi I just got couple new holsters today. The one that really seems to confuse me is the Blackhawk Serpa II hip holster. It came with two pieces, one ofr the gun and this other black piece that looks like it is suppose to connect to the Serpa II gun holster. Can anyone tell me the proper way to wear your Serpa II blackhawk holster on your hip. If you have any pics that would be helpful. I don't get what the two parts are for and there is no instructions about this either. Any tips on the best way to wear this would be helpful. This will be my home defense piece. Also, I was wondering if it is requirement to use a belt for the Serpa II holster, since sometimes I wear non-belted pants?

Also, I have the Galco P229 IWB holster. DOes anyone have any tips on the best way to wear this one with my heavy Sig P229 Elite. This will be my main conceal carry piece, so concealment is most important in my state that prohibits open carry.

The Serpa holster has belt slots and can optionally have a paddle attachment added to it. The paddle goes between your pants and body, over your belt/pant waistband, with the holster held on the outside. While the paddle gives a little bit of support and stabilization, I think you are still best off wearing a belt.

What kind of Galco IWB? They have the Royal Guard, Summer Comfort, Stow-n-Go and others. Knowing which will help answer where and how to wear it.

Hi thanks for youre response. It is the Galco Sky Ops P229 Leather Holster. The code is SKY250B. I bought it from Optics PLanet. I am having a very hard time figuring out the best way to wear this GalcO IWB. I see that you clip it onto the pants and the belt inserts into the belt holder part of the holster. However, I just don't quite get what part of your pants you place it. Also, lets say I tuck my shirt in. What is the best way to make the gun not visible lets say I am wearing a long sleeve shirt tucked into my pants?

I think I have figured out the basics of the Blackhawk holster, although I still don't get the deal about the paddle holster.

Buy a very strong belt for your Blackwater. Dont get caught with a tired belt wearing the rig on the belt plate.

Hi, do you have any links to places that sell decent gun belts for a modest price?

Thanks for the tip Dan, I will try it out.. I still need to get my Oregon conceal permit, I only have one for WA, so I will not get to actually carry my piece until a month or so. I spend majority of my time in Oregon, not WA. Bummer.. Anyhow, I like to learn the best way to do it, before I go out in public. I am new to CCW.
