What I generally to do attach tags to minimize the chance of loss is to totally wrap them in electrical tape to the lower leg. I'm not sure how that could come off.

How do self adhesive tags work if the only places to stick it are covered in hair?

For cow elk or other non-antlered game you're supposed to cut through the skin at the gambrel between that big tendon and the bone and then slide the tag the through the incision. You can either wrap it around the tendon or the main part of the leg and then stick it to itself.

I think you got off cheap, with your life. ;)

Some hunters are stupid and flat out blind, I have seen a hunter with a vest on where you could not see it at all on his side, but the hat was there.

The hat is just smart

I have never been hog hunting but the deer cannot see the orange at all. ;)

I know this guy who got a little lost once while hunting. Not real lost, just misplaced. It took him an extra hour to get back to his truck and by the time he got there, he was really cold. Not thinking, he got in his truck and placed his loaded rifle on the seat next to him.
Not long after, a friendly game warden showed up and fined him for that loaded rifle.
He told the warden "I'll pay the fine, but instead of paying the money for license each year, it will go to the fine. I won't buy a license until I pay for that fine."
It took him about ten years to pay the fine.

That sucks lol

Atleast our hunting group this year, we all had our concealed permits and that allows us to have a loaded rifle in the car with us, even though your not suppose to have the hunting weapon loaded, you really can't be fined for it. :p

I have heard of the DNR guys giving CCW permit holders the third degree, I have never heard of them being cited for it. :neener:
I have heard of the one guy in the car with out his permit getting a ticket though...
Of course we all kept the chambers clear for the sake of safety. ;)
