Well, and this is indicative rather than definitive, FN98 rifles were chambered in 270 Win, so 65,000 psi. Whether the receiver that you have can do so is beyond the knowledge of anyone posting here…
Oh that is good to know. So assuming the action is in good shape it should be able to handle a 375 ruger. I’m thinking my pressures are going to be somewhere around 58,000.
I have a NOS FN commercial single shot target action with a magnum bolt face that’s in the process of being made into a custom hunting rig cambered in 300 PRC. Since these actions were originally used for long range target competitions, many chambered in 300 win mag and other magnum cartridges, I believe it would be as safe as any action made today
A '98 Mauser action made by Fabrique Nationale is good for any commercial cartridge for pressure. It may not accommodate some very long cartridges in the magazine, but only by virtue of length.
i have four rifles made in sweden with FN 98 mauser commercial actions, and all four have eaten loads right on the top of the loads in the loading manuals with out any problems. the top rifle has a a military 98 mauser action, the lower four rifles are swedish rifles with FN 98 mauser commercial actions.
