Good God almighty...

I'm sitting at my desk wondering if I didn't make a mistake in buying that Remington 81.

I've got a lot of expenses coming up in the next couple months, and my job isn't quite as secure as I'd like it to be because we're recompeting the master contract...

And not more than 10 minutes ago my boss walks up and hands me a bonus check.

I was warned when I came here that bonuses, while they exist, are relatively few and far between.

I've been here for a little under 5 years now, and IIRC this is my 11th bonus.

Purchase price plus quite a bit more.

In fact it will go a long way toward paying for my share of the 40th Anniversary dinner that my brother and I are throwing for our Parents.

And yes, the 81 is .300 Savage. That's the only reason why I got it.

Gee .....

That news was hard too take ......

And I hope you get a lot more like it ......

Congratulations.

Congrats!:D

I worked in the private sector for 6 years, and was the only time I ever got bonuses. Makes you really appreciate it.

And of course, always good to get another toy!

Now quit screwin around, and get to the range.

In the spirit of socialism, share it with us. ;)

And congratulations!

Bwahahahahahahaha!

Comrade Irwinski,

You are invited to the next meeting of the Party. We will review the teachings of Marx-Engels and please, remember to bring the Remington - unloaded of course.

A black car will pick you up at 3 a.m. ;)

This isn't possible. Someone has hijacked, kidnapped, identity stole Mike Irwin. It's gotta be I tell ya.

Why? 'cause "the company" don't hand out bonuses and certainly not multiple bonuses a year!

Ha! You are uncovered. Bring back my, and FM's, fellow co-owner.:scrutiny:

:neener:

Geeze, we spell bonus with an "E" in the OR office.

Congrats!

Crap, I forgot there were people here who worked at MY sector HQ! At least I think HSO works for my sector's HQ.

Sigh.

Looks like I'm heading for a chat with our ethics committee! :)

It's really nice working for a company that appears to value me as an employee, and looks at me as a problem solver instead of just a problem.

That's why I don't mind going to work in the morning. After almost 5 years, it's still enjoyable.

Mind you I hate getting up in the morning. I'm just not a morning person...

Darn.

And yes, the 81 is .300 Savage. That's the only reason why I got it.

And here I thought you were intrigued by John M. Browning's design of his autoloader. ;)

Naaww, you're in that "other" sector, but your sector administrator and I go waaaay back.

Not to worry, in the true spirit of employee ownership (indentured servitude sounds so ... unpleasant) I'm sure that you'll share with your fellow inmates.

Not to worry. If you got a bonus out of this operation you certainly earned it (last one I got was for spending months in a rad/chem contaminated scrap pile making sure there were no injuries/exposures while it got cleaned up)!

Now about that Remi...
