How exactly is this gun related you ask? Well because my wife is bringing me home a Marlin 39A .22 lever gun as a get well present. I would do the happy dance but I am afraid I might damage something.

I have been waffling back and forth between a .357 magnum Marlin or the .22 39A and finally came to the conclusion that the fact is I will shoot the hell out of a .22 39A where as the 1894 would make a nice companion for the revolvers and make for great pictures but would likely get shot much less.

So tell me everything I need to know about the Marlin 39A.

Chris

Hope recovery goes well.

Great Gun, accurate, will last forever, PMC Zappers , Win X22lr and CCI mini- mags (in that order it seems) to be the most accurate YMMV.

Wifey has to carry the bricks of ammo until Doc lifts weight to lift restrictions...but a box or two of 50 rds shouldn't hurt anything. Grinning too big might hurt still.

;)

They don't show up too often at gun stores or gun shows here. Them that have 'em, tend to stick to 'em.

I saw an older one yesterday at a local gun show with a $350 price tag on it. I wouldn't pay that much for it, since it had more wear than I'd like.

I am looking for one to be an understudy to my .41 Magnum 1894. One of these days I'll find one.

I love the idea of a lever action 22, I am looking pretty hard for a Ruger 96/22 so I can use my 10/22 mags, but they are tough to find.

I also want a '94 for hunting/shtf/homeland security/scout jr/patrol III'whatever its called now purposes

Get well soon btw!:D

surgery

chief, first of all healing vibes to you and yours..
last year I had surgery...in the middle of the whole thing
i somehow regained awareness. I know what was going on and
to detract myself I visualized I was out shooting and concentrating
on the 10 ring and calling my shots..mentally. haha.
again, good luck, and prayers.
