So I pull into the range this afternoon after work for some handgun practice. Sitting on the counter is a PS90. I have little to no interest in these, but I thought some of those who are interested would like to hear an impression.

Short. Light. Good ergonomics (for me). Nice sights. Expensive.

Now, moved on to the surplus rack, and there was a New England Westinghouse 1915 Mosin Nagant, all original matching parts, bore was dark but strong rifling, bluing was in good shape for that age, no rust to speak of, wood had lovely markings and didn't appear to have any repair.

$300.

Not one week ago I ordered three rifles (two Mosin Nagants and one Swiss K31) from Classic Arms, and now I have not the funding for this rifle. I won't hold out hope that it will last until next month.

I am very depressed. :(

If you have a story you'd like to share about the one that got away, please share it to help me recover.

Yup, BTDT...a few times. Most recently was a gunshow, where they had a Mossberg "Bullpup" Shotgun...Have wanted one ever since I saw one many, many years ago. not the most practical gun or anything, but I always thought they were "cool". Haven't seen one for sale locally in like 20 years. Looked on GunBroker and GunsAmerica once and they were going for $800. The one at the gunshow?--$400 in (appearance anyway) mint condition. And I didn't even have enough cash to buy AMMO that day.:fire:

You should always keep around $ 1,000.00 in your pocket in case something like that comes along,Then you could lend it to me,and I could get the rifle.I would be your best friend after that.

There is/was one for sale on phoenix.backpage.com a few days ago. Might wanna check it out and see if its still there.

Remington Mosin-Nagant, 1917 I think. $140.

I wasn't standing more than 10 feet away when it got sold to some punk kid that'll probably sporterize it. :(

I hate to see fine guns period when I'm broke and out of trading stock (I have a core of firearms that will not go peacefully to the trading block;) ). There's a NEF Handi Rifle at a shop calling my name (in .30-30 for $175) but I already have a Colt Police Positive on poor-man's-credit(layaway) that I am dilligently trying to get out.
