    I feel a little embarrassed.

I've had a PSA PA-10 Gen 2 Magpul lower for a little over a year and have been putting off buying an upper for it ever since. More of a range toy than an actual need, but I would have a use for it as a SHTF all-around rifle.

PSA has the Gen 3 18" uppers for $479 and occasionally lists them on sale for $449. When the word of the virus got out a month ago, I was thinking I should buy one and was waiting for them to go on sale to pick one up.

They didn't. With all of the panic-buying going on and no signs of it slowing until at least the election, and WA governor talking about banning the sale of ALL AR components and parts, I decided to just order it.

Went to the PSA website and they raised the price to $499 overnight and now charge shipping. So something I could have bought a couple of months ago $450 to my door just cost me $100 more.

But I will have a complete AR-10 in a couple of weeks and a new toy to play with.

Still, I feel a little dirty for giving in to concerns over how things are rapidly changing in our country.

Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

You'll get over it. Probably after the first couple of shots....

    Enjoy!

I’m kicking myself for not buying the bulk pack of 80% lowers a few weeks ago when I found a stupid deal. Like $13 each shipped. Congrats on getting what you wanted though.

I still have plenty of supply from the last panic round - I over did it especially with .22 inventory - fear and greed got the best of me. This round however, I did not need to buy anything so everyone else will get my Coronavirus share - enjoy it if you can get it.

I've discovered that now is not a good time to add a new caliber to my stockpile, lol. Luckily, I had already bought plenty of mags for it a year ago. Was surprised to see decent cheap .308 brass out of stock in a couple of places online, and shipping costs have made it worth to just drive further locally and buy in person.

I’m not embarrassed to say after buying those 3 bags of Doritos I added to my stockpile 1 24-pack of Pearson’s Salted Nut Rolls. $9, same as they were before the “crisis”, but I used to just buy 1 at a time.

It’s too bad the price went up, especially when consumers are presently snapping up anything firearm related but cycles come and go. Enjoy the new upper and give us a range report if you will as time permits.

If people start eating all the rice they've been panic buying, they won't need the TP for a while. lol

If there is a panic buying binge on food and we have to resort to cannibalism, remember the vegans will be the best. They're the closest thing to grass fed.

I was doing the same thing with a PSA 8.5" 300 Blackout upper, waiting for free shipping and now they are out of stock and $50 more. I decided to buy one from BCA. It was cheaper than PSA's upper even before they raised the price.

I picked up an Aero Precision 20” upper Saturday night. It shipped this morning. I have a couple of lowers that need to be completed and I figured now was as good a time as any. I was wrong. Aero didn’t really increase their prices, just took most of their inventory back to regular prices. I’m not mad. These guys have to make hay while the sun is shining. I’ve been a glutton for the past two years to the detriment of several AR manufacturers. Prices have been bottomed out and I think we can honestly say, we’ve seen the beginning and the end of the golden age of affordable AR-15s.

I kinda lucked out a couple Saturday's ago right when the panic buying really started picking up fast.
On a whim I swung through my local farm-n-home type store and picked up 50 little 20rd boxes of Federal XM193 for $287. They still had a bunch of bulk boxes and ammo cans, but going with the little boxes saved me $45 compared to the 1000rd box.. go figure.
I like the little boxes better anyway, grab 3 and load two pmags, they even roll out of the little box all lined up.

Speaking of PSA... 3 weeks waiting and still don't have the missing MOE grip bolt, bottom cap, trigger guard & pins they shorted me in a recent kit.
I was after them well before the *real* panic buying started, the customer service responses are slow, non-committal, basically useless and leaving me with no idea if/when the parts will show.
    Plus..
They sold me a vice block they didn't have.
All combined I'm pretty irked at them right about now :fire:

Meanwhile, there is no shortage of emails from them trying to sell me more "deals" that won't arrive for a month.

at least you got something you already knew you were going to be getting, prices all around may be going up for a while, so - you never really know

Any company that jacked up their prices should be outed. Then left out in the cold, buyer beware!

There were quite a few deals that dried up in the last couple weeks. The good part is that there are a lot more people that have woke up and realized that they need something more than a golf club to protect themselves.

PSA didn't jack up prices per say. They took their product off sale. I noticed that Midway and Brownells have stopped offering any specials as well.

I did hear that another vendor has doubled the price of ammunition. That's not cool in my book.

I don't understand why people jump on the panic buying of guns and ammo over the virus when it comes to panic buying 1000's of rounds and willing to pay $200 and up more for a AR or AK unless they think they will flip it for a profit, but they are the ones that are making prices rise. I understand many are buying a gun in fear of civil unrest, but those people typically buy one gun and a couple boxes of ammo.

And while sellers are free to charge what they want and raise prices, it is a clear difference in mentality between those that bash sellers charging three times more for toilet paper or soap or medicine or food all considered vital to staying healthy and alive but cheers is it as "free market" that gun sellers especially on gun broker that because there is a uptick in sales because people fear for their security that they raise the price of a gun or ammo three times the amount.

So to say it another way, anyone who gouges prices on medicine, food, soap or paper all considered national emergency needs the websites ban the sellers and people leave nasty negative feedback to them and the government punishes them yet on guns also deemed vital stay open shops in most places as being security items many cheer it as unabashed capitalism free market and encourage it, then on top buy into the panic and buy 1000's of rounds at said triple prices.

Seems to me if you already have a gun and a box or two of ammo (which most people do) in case of civil unrest now is NOT the time to buy any ammo or guns until prices come back to normal. THE ONLY reason ammo and guns are double or triple the price is because sellers are betting on panic fears of people who already have 5000 rounds of ammo but panic that they better get 5000 more just so they can sit on thousands of rounds extra at home.

Find a seller selling ammo or a gun at pre virus prices then buy it, if not don't, make the sellers raising prices come back down.

My 14yr old is a vegan( she calls it nice vegan cause it isn't a religious thing for her) and I guarantee she won't be on anyone's menu the way she handles a 44 and her AR. She thought the grass fed thing was funny though...

To think just a few months ago, gun shops were struggling to survive. You could hardly give away an AR-15. Then came Beto. Now this.

Trey Veston: Good move, as long as you still, or fairly soon, might have a fun place to shoot.

The very nice private club near Memphis with every type of range facility, just 12 min. from here, finally shutdown today. It is managed by some 'older gentlemen'. Now it's $15-20/hour in an extremely loud indoor range (if VZ-58 or AK), and only paper targets.

At least you're honest about the panic for the AR-10.

Speedo66: Let's hope Gas Stations don't ever get mobbed. * My tank gets filled now everytime when 3/4 full.
It would take me a while to ride 4 miles to the Kroger on my bicycle, and it would need a basket somehow attached for food bags.
