I know I'll get skewered for saying it... but the method of concealed carry I keep going back to is....

Appendix carry of a Ruger LCP with a Clip Draw, tucked in my pants at 2 o'clock, condition 3 (chamber empty).

Reasons:
1. Very well concealed. Only the but end of the LCP slide is exposed and my shirt blouses out right over that. On my physique and wardrobe, pocket carry in a Nemisis bulges out like a sore thumb, with the holster increasing the total package thickness ~75%
2. Comfortable, yet not so much so that I forget it's there.
3. Easy. Check the chamber and slip it in my pants. Sit down in the car and slip it out to stow in console. Slip it back into my pants
4. Accessible. I won't win any quick draw contest, but it is easy enough to retrieve.
5. Safe. Can't shoot my nuts off with an empty chamber.
6. The limited concealed carry option I can and will use every day is better than the better options that I won't.

I work in a "prohibited" environment and can't get made. And I believe in keeping my tools on my person.

Anyone else feel this way?

I can't keep the piece oriented correctly in my pocket without a holster, but the padded cloth holsters add so much thickness that the package sticks out lie a sore thumb.

All I can say is, with it clipped to your waistband, at least you don't have to dig around the rest of your 'tools' to find it.:D

If I may ask, what's the "prohibited environment" you work in?

I'm not sure how anyone who hasn't put there eyeball on my bulging pocket can say that it doesn't stick out. Unlike some, I can't ware droopy drawers.

Restricted environment is due to employers written policy. I had special dispensation from old HR manager, but that position has turned and policy clarified. So I'd prefer to not lose my job over it.

When I need deep conceal I carry my PF9 in a cheap holster in my pocket.
Otherwise it’s IWB at 3 o’clock.

When I started carrying I didn’t carry chambered. Now it’s the norm.

but to each his/her own.

I'd rather carry the LCP (not the LCP-II) loose alone in a pocket with a chambered round than anywhere else without one.

That's how I carried my off-duty guns back in the eighties and early nineties before pocket holsters became a thing (PPK/S and Charter Arms Undercover.)

Now, I pocket-carry a P32 in a DeSantis Nemesis, in jeans, at all times when not working. It's obvious to anyone looking that there's something there, but men with stuff in their pockets isn't alarming here.

have you tried one of those kydex trigger covers. I can’t recall the brand but it just slips on the trigger guard. That might allow enough safety to carry with one in the chamber.

There are lots of them, with lanyard to tie to belt..pull gun out, lanyard pulls trigger guard off, so you can safely carry one in the chamber. How I carried my LCP(sold it tho, NO FUN to shoot), but do this, 'ClipDraw', with G42..one in the chamber.

I carry my lcp around the farm and normal routine local destinations iwb, empty chamber, on the techniclip.

When I venture out of my normal circles, I use this Desantis SofTuck iwb, and carry with a loaded chamber.

No round in the chamber generally requires two hands to load it, leaving you no hands to protect yourself or fend someone off.

Stress may made loading it difficult also.

Yeah, my Kahr p380 prints, or swings wildly in my pants pockets. Better off in a IWB holster. For a heavy, jacket pocket, I prefer my .38 jframe.

Both are no more effective than my knife unfortunately.

I don’t think I would carry a gun loose in a pocket with a round in the chamber. Lint in the action might also make it a single shot. Holsters please.

Kydex pocket holster works great when I pocket carry my LCP. Keeps it oriented correctly, and the shape is concealed by the wing that keeps it oriented.

Why would I skewer you? It's your tail you're protecting, not mine. Do that how you like.

Would I carry like that? Nope. But that's not what we're talking about.
