99 times out of 100, my belt when I carry is one of my Kore belts. Still love to use, but I need a more "dress" style belt for nice clothes and a tucked in shirt. I have the belt buckle already. It will also need to be a gun belt because I still carry concealed in nicer clothes. So here are the requirements:

1) Removable buckle- this is paramount to put on a sentimental buckle that I have
2) Ideally less than $40 and definitely no more than $100
3) Belt holes 3/4" or 1/2" apart. I like the adjust ability of my Kore so more fine adjustment over standard 1" holes is good for me.
4) Some internal core. I don't care if its steel, or polymer, or unicorn dust. Something that will help me carry for many years to come.
5) 1.5" width. These are pants, not a Batman utility belt
6) NO Velcro

My previous selection for this kind of belt is a Ghould and Goodrich security pro leather belt. Because it is all leather, I was buying a new belt every 2 years at the longest. Now less retailers are carrying them, so I am looking for a replacement.

You'll be hard pressed to find a decent gun belt for <$40. Beltman is good. If you can live with black, though, the DeSantis Econobelt has worked pretty well for me. I know it's an underbelt, but I wear mine with suits and as far as I can tell, nobody has ever figured that out.

I agree with the fella's above. If you're buying a $40 leather belt, you're probably going to end up going through them pretty quickly just like you are now. A quality dual layer belt probably doesn't need a stiffener, but they are available.

A&G Gun Leather is similar to The Beltman and is another option https://agcustomgunleather.com

There are several quality belt makers, I have been very satisfied with Beltman and they offer a wide range of options.
I probably still have a dozen or more worthless $30-$40 belts somewhere that I "saved money on".

A good belt can make an inexpensive holster very usable while a cheap belt will make a quality holster seem worthless.

Buy once, cry once.

had my belt man belt for 7-8 years now, still stiff, still love it.

I really like mine. It was $96 including shipping so it slides in just under max budget. I wear mine with Dockers in the office every day and it looks great, and the 1.5" version fits the belt loops fine. I've never had one without the internal stiffener but for an extra $10 I think it's worth getting it.

So the dressier Kore gun belt does not work for you? I use the Kore leather gun belt for Sunday/dress-wear and it looks as good as any dress belt. Just curious.

The price is more of want than need. This is a belt I would wear about once a week for about 4 hours tops. So the most I would want to spend is $100, minus shipping. I have used the Econobelt before. Not a bad belt at all and it is one of my options. Econobelt was my main carry gun belt before I found Kore, so the Desantis I have is shot out and would have to be replaced if I went that route.

That is what I am currently using. Black leather Kore belt with the X2 style buckle. The belt I am looking for would be another dress belt with a sentimental buckle. Large, solid brass oval.

I have a lot of my leather work done here. I am using two different gun belts and they are built like tanks and superb leather work. I prefer a stiff leather belt that is steel lined, no flex or bounce to them. I had Silver Star custom make me a double thickness steel lined belt with brass roller buckles. I typically carry steel framed guns like a BHP or 1911 with an external double mag pouch, I need a lot of support.

A little background on Silver Star Leather. They are Amish owned in Shipshewana Indiana. Yes, they have a telephone for business in a "phone shack". Yes, they accept credit cards. Yes, they have a fax machine. No, they do not have email. Hours are typically M-Sat 10am to 4:30pm,closed Sundays of course. They are a more "progressive" Amish Order.

Loren Yoder and his wife run Silver Star along with some local Amish ladies that work in shop. They are very friendly and 2nd Amendment friendly. Mr. Yoder is no stranger to making gun belts, holsters, mag pouches, culling belts, knife sheathes. He likes custom projects and has experience in doing exotic leather work for those of you that need "blingy" BBQ holsters.

The telephone is for business and not BSing, if you call you will normally get the answering machine, he will call you back within 24hrs. He can be contacted thru the web sites and has an "outside" person to convey the info.

His work is extremely high quality.

Couple of years ago, I Got lucky, I found two really thick dress gun belts at a thrift store. Both had removable buckles (I have about two dozen) and one was black and the other Brown.

I'm not sure they meet all your requirements( and I'm too lazy to verify but I'm really happy with my 14oz BigFoot Gunbelt with steel liner.

For the short term at least, I ordered another Desantis Econobelt to fill the role. They made some improvements to the design since I've had my last one. The belt keeper has 2 metal clips to keep it sturdy instead of one. The buckle is now held on by a single T20 screw instead of 2 snap buttons. I like both changes so far. In the near future I will probably go with a belt listed here.

I’m not knocking Beltman, and I do highly recommend them but I had the distinct pleasure of actually wearing one out at the holes after only six years of hard and constant use and lack of care. I’m sure it was because I soaked it with sweat nearly everyday for 6 months straight while building my shop in this southern heat.

I believe I do have the toxic ginger sweat even though I’m not a ginger.
