It's a good thing I was good this past year, because Santa found a 2.5-inch stainless Python after a mere year and a half of looking.
It's currently in my gunsmith's hands for single action trigger pull reduction and replacement of the front sight with a plain sight. After he's done, I'll send it to the good folks at http://www.magnaport.com for barrel crowning and porting, hammer and trigger jeweling, and possibly bead blasting, although the bright polish is growing on me. Meanwhile, I'll order a replacement rear sight from the good folks at http://www.millettsights.com. I don't yet know what I want to do for stocks. Full-sized target stocks usually look peculiar on a snub-nosed revolver, but these factory sights are out of the question, even with a Tyler T grip extension. I wouldn't mind ivory, but would mind spending the ±$500.
Now my blued Python snubby is a lot less lonely.
