Imagine your son or daughter was in the Parkland school and one of these "brave first responders" was found cowering behind his patrol car instead of going in and engaging the murderer. Would you be inclined to make excuses for their behavior? This is way more than simple dereliction of duty and cowardice in the face of the enemy, and both of those charges would get you standing in front of a firing squad in WWII. I know all policemen are not craven cowards like these four, but not all of them are heros either. While the media and the democratic party are calling for confiscation and banning of AR15s and all semi auto rifles, none of them seem at all interested in the massive failures of local, state and federal governments. I want to see the faces of the Broward Cowards and read their employment records so I can scoff at their "service awards." In the old days they would have rode out of town on a rail after being tarred and feathered. We need to heap shame on these four and their weasel Sheriff boss, Scott Israel. Their failure to do what needed to be done contributed greatly to this tragedy. I can think of no better reason to personally own an AR15 than learning just how poorly some law enforcement agencies actually protect the public.

I believe a court trial of Nikolas Cruz for the seventeen counts of homicide could go a long way toward shining a bright light on this whole event.
The defense wants to take the death penalty off the table in exchange for a guilty plea, but I don't believe the District Attorney will go for this at all.
The defense is only left with an insanity plea which will likely fail because so much planning was involved and because he was running from the scene knowing he had committed a crime.
The District attorney will not want to miss any evidence and the defense will likely be pointing in all directions except at their client.
I'm betting the Sheriff's career doesn't survive the trial.

The dereliction of duty by Broward's Cowards was perhaps even more shocking than the original crime. In the normal course of things bad people can be expected to do bad things but when the watchmen can't be bothered to even inconvenience them that's almost worse.

This really isn't about bolstering the 2A if the purpose of the shaming of the deputies that failed to move to save lives until the PD got there.

Remember that Activism is only for plans for the preservation and restoration of the 2A and not rants and vague ideas.
