Idiot I saw the other day

I was at the gas station the other day with my wife filling up when I noticed a guy at the pump across from me. Out of the corner of my eye I caught a flash of back from his hip and figured it was a cell phone or something. I did a double take to make sure and I spotted a full-sized springfield XD in a fobus kydex holster. I'm not against open carry and don't mind it but I noticed that he didn't even have a belt on so the gun was just loosely flopping around on his hip. He had this look on his face like a dog gets when riding shotgun in a pickup truck. I figured he just bought the gun recently and wanted to show it off. I was really pissed. Any comments?

No, not really. Is open carry legal there? If so, what's your beef?

I was up camping this weekend, and watched a guy stick a holstered polymer pistol on an IWB holster in the small of his back. This was in the campsite across from me. I thought nothing of it, because open carry is completely legal where I was. Then he took it out and put it in his fishing tackle box and took off. I spent a few minutes wondering if he had a concealed permit. He probably did, as many do around here, and when the County Sheriff drove by, It briefly crossed my mind to mention it, but then I thought Nah, I'll mind my own business, as I would want others to do if it were me.

I frequently carry IWB. Its not open carry but its still IWB. Even if I did open carry I would likely carry in the same manner. Nothing to get upset about.

He was probably just relieved to be using a fobus paddle holster instead of the awful one that comes with the XD.
The first time he goes to draw it and the holster comes with it he'll reconsider that method of carry. Everyone goes through a learning curve when they start carrying.

No problem with me. If I got upset everytime someone did something I didn't approve of I would lead a terrible life. I usually carry on my belt and wear a vest, if its not buttoned and the wind catches it, OPP's

Yeah, I for one, am getting really sick of seeing terms like "idiot" or other disparaging remarks used on this site. Even more so when they are in the titles of threads...
