Alright here is the deal. I ordered a Marlin 336 from cheaper than dirt, I looked around and they had the best price. I follow the instructions to the letter, I put it in my shopping cart and checkout. Then I drove to my local ffl dealer and he sent all the information in an email. This was done on Thursday 12/8. The warehouse received the information at 2:11 pm their time. On Friday I looked at my order and saw it was still being processed at the warehouse. I called them, the women I talked to told that my gun had shipped out it just took the system 24 hours to update. I confirmed this with her 2 more times and I was very pleased. On Saturday I look and the order still says being processed at our warehouse. Again I call and talk to a rude women on the phone who informed me that it would ship out Monday. I ask her about what I had been told be for and she feed me some bs. On Monday morning It still has not shipped out, I send them and email explaining the issue. Their email was not an apology, it was just an excuse about how the warehouse was busy, but that it would ship today (Monday). Now it is Tuesday, My gun has still not shipped.

The bottom line is this, I don't mind waiting 5 or 6 days for something. Lots of reviews on cheaper than dirt said that they received their guns in 3 to 4 days. But I have never had to wait 7 or more days for a product from the internet, even those from Canada. I had a day off work on Thursday and wanted to shoot it, but now that is a bust. AND I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED EVEN AN APOLOGY.

Are you serious? OMG! OMG! OMG!

If you are this impatient......why on God's green earth didn't you make your purchase from a brick & mortar store? It's the BUSIEST SHOPPING PERIOD OF THE YEAR.

You bought it last Thursday.
UPS/FedEx don't pickup on weekends (without you paying waaaay extra)
Today is the third business day since your purchase.

Good grief.

CTD drop-ships from Sports South. Sometimes the inventory systems aren't in synch, so if SS doesn't have the gun in stock you will wait.

And yes, FedEx/UPS/USPS are all busy-slammed right now. We're getting deliveries up to 9 pm, and the trucks are nowhere near empty.

If you absolutely, positively, must have the gun right now then buy it locally. Since you went with the lowest price, you get to wait.

Wow! I have got to agree with dogtown tom on this. You are being extremely impatient. Expecting something to happen in the barest minimum of time and expecting an apology when it doesn't is a bit over the top. Especially at this time of the year when you normally can add several days to a week to any quoted delivery expectation.

Here Here dogtown tom. Buy from a regular gunshop next time TimJones. Then be impatient when the NICs check takes longer than 5 minutes. It is a busy time for them too.

@ dogtown tom, Don't you think that 3 days just to have something shipped is a little long?
@Bubbles, I just got a new cell phone shipped by FedEx right on time.

If Cheaper that dirt wants to get more gun business I think they need to get a little faster

I think you need to visit you local gunshop and forget about Buds, Cheaper Than Dirt etc.

I recently purchased a farily expensive item from Best Buy that had to be shipped from their warehouse. It so happens the warehouse is in California. Anyway, shipping was free and I get the notification that it was shipped... I check it the next day and it says it is being processed.... delivery was scheduled about a week later as it was UPS ground. I got to the next to last day before the item was supposed to be delivered and in the morning it still says "processing".... checked later that evening and the item was in my city. Apparently UPS held the package until they were ready to schedule the transport and then did not update the tracking information. The item was delivered on time. I was worried.

I agree with others about the busy time of the year, so things take a little longer.
However, I'm with the OP regarding the BS line he was told the first time. Typical BS they give you, so you will get off their phone, "yeah yeah, it shipped already".

I don't mind waiting, however my customer service experience was not stellar either. I am not usually impatient, I just like things that go boom :). My issue is not with The shipper, I have friends that work for UPS and FedEx and I now how busy it gets. My issue is that it has not been given to FedEx to ship, and I have been treated rudely on the phone. At my job if I had treated someone like that and they complained I would probably be given some unpaid vacation if you know what I mean.

Simmer down TimJones. I'm going to take a wild guess and assume you arent the only person buying for CTD. If you buy off the internet, you have to wait! I'm so sick of hearing grown men wine about the stupidest things.

Or, buy local and not wait. Its a pretty simple concept.

My apologies to you and Cheaper than dirt my FFL just called me and told me that my gun is there. I feel so badly. I will email CTD and apologize. I feel like an ass hat.
SO SORRY

things take time to ship... good luck with the 336, i dont want to alarm you but look it over carefully there has been some QC issues with some(not all) new marlins. i have seen some myself, but have heard of people getting nice guns.
One thought is if you reload put some rounds together for the new rifle, it should be able to distract you for a few days. good luck

The treatment on the phone by CTD did not sound good. I think they are just overwhelmed with orders right now for everything including firearms. It's Christmas. Spread some Christmas cheer rather than Ah humbug. Sometimes I lean toward the humbug side of things when I start adding up the actual cost of gifts. I chuckle when I see folks on TV say they have a $500 budget for Christmas. Sometime times that is one person's "share". Ah Humbug!

My beef with CTD has almost always been their shipping costs. I still buy from them but I tend to lump my orders into a single larger order rather than shotgunning the orders like I sometimes do with Amazon. I believe I've had three or four separate orders delivered from Amazon in the last week.

I think you chose a good woods rifle. I hope it works out for you or if it is a present, I hope the receiver absolutely loves it.

Yup, everytime i order from cheaper than dirt it always says processing and I always get the item before a tracking number is updated on their site.

Your first post here is whining and (wrongly) accusing an internet gun shop about their shipping times 10-15 days before Christmas?
Really?
You should be a little more patient. If it really takes a little longer than expected, shoot them an email or phone call. Most companies will let you know what's going on, and make whatever they can right. If they blow you off, or something, then start complaining.
You have to give them a chance before you tell everyone their company sucks.
