What would it be???

I'm in the mood to buy another 1911. I sold off my first, and now have the hankering for another. I'm no big 1911 buff, and I own other firearms better suited for CCW, home defense, etc... but I still miss that crisp trigger and thump that makes my teeth click.

If you could only have one decent 1911, what would it be? Nighthawk? Ed Brown? Wilson Combat? Springfield? (I'm probably going to get a SIGARMS GSR stainless regardless, but I'm curious as to what makes and models y'all would prefer.)

i've had quite a few different makes/brands and the one i'm the happiest with is my les baer...wouldn't sell it for anything...drives tacks all day long...:)

Me personally I've been looking at the new Taurus 1911 with rail. It looks very aesthetically pleasing. Or would go with a Colt if i could afford it. Only cause when other 1911's are having problems the remedy is normally parts from a standard Colt 1911.

Go for the original, at least an copy of the original Browning's work:

Colt 1911 WWI Reproduction

Accurate, smooth trigger, and with awesome carbonia blue.

Are you kidding me? A vintage 1911 reproduction? How cool is that!

A WWII-production Union Switch & Signal. Failing that, one of 1911Tuner's G.I. Frankenstein "beaters". Actually, to tell you the truth, I'd rather have one of those than the US&S, if it were to be shot and not just admired and discussed. :)

Ummmm.....this one:

Tons of history, all related to my family in one way or the other. Bluing wear is mostly from my father's hand on the grips. I don't care what you want to buy it for....

Only one? I'd go w/ a Colt and after putting several hundred rounds through it, maybe a few mods to fit my needs :D

The GI 45 from Springfield Armory. Use the several hundred bucks saved from not buying a premium model to get the feed ramp worked on (if it needs it, buy several mags, and a lot of ammunition.

+1

No bells, no whistles, just a 1911 as JMB wanted.;)
