so as the title says, your next purchase had to be chambered in a round that you do not currently have, what would you get?

I think I would be looking hard at my options in 327 federal mag.

Pistol: .45ACP. Been without for almost a year, and it is killing me. Still have my dies.
Rifle: .45-70. Father bought a Henry lever, round looks awesome, super-easy to load for. I want a breech-loader, though.

One of these days I need to buy a 9x19mm...

I really want to add 455 Webley to what I have already and maybe 11mm French Ordnance.

And not that I really need it for anything I would like to see how far I could stretch 300 or 338 RUM .

For a handgun, I've been seriously thinking of adding a revolver chambered in .45LC to my collection. If I had to pick a rifle, I think I'd go with a lever-action in .45-70.

.357 or .38, both for pistol or rifle I think. I don’t own a revolver or a lever action rifle which I would like to have some day.

I want to get a .38 revolver as my first real pocket or back up gun too so all of the stuff I sort of want seems to fit together.

If not one of those I would probably say .45 in the most traditional 1911a1 variant I could find, built as close to the WWII models of the 1940s.

Even though it's fallen out of favor, .40 S&W. I have TONS of spent brass for it already, though no gun (range pickup brass). I also would have to get the reloading dies for it, so that makes my entry into this caliber quite expensive.

On the plus side, used handguns chambered in .40 are readily available at good prices. Resale might not be too hot. Other than as collectors' items. Lol.

Hi...
As far as handguns calibers go...
Only two I can think of are .327 Mag and .475Linebaugh or possibly .454Casull, pretty much have everything else covered.
Rifle calibers is an ongoing project... I am currently looking for a nice used Sako in a mid range caliber, something like 6.5, .264 Win Mag or so. Has to have a wood stock, Mannlicher would be fine but not necessary.
An older used Remington M700 or Win M70 with a nice wood stock in that caliber range would be acceptable as well.
I have been looking more or less seriously for a while now...just can't find the right rifle at the right price.
I don't really need another rifle or handgun for that matter but I want them and that is reason enough.
