Please contact your state representatives and ask them to oppose Senate Bill # 8. Although it is called the "Child Predator Protection Act", this bill would expand "unarmed victim zones" to include the parking lots at daycare facilities (drop your kids off? If a gun is in the car you could go to jail) and public parks and the parking lots. You can read the bill for yourself at

Also please oppose Senate Bill # 9 which would prohibit the VICTIM of domestic violence who requests a restraining order from buying a gun for self defense. Change the 8 to a 9 to view the bill itself.

We need to flood Raleigh with postcards, e-mail and letters concerning these two bills and politely make the case for expanding, not reducing, the places where concealed carry permit holders have the option of doing so.

I just received my newsletter from Grassroots North Carolina which stressed the need to oppose both bills. Perhaps that information was outdated.
