Illinois Assault Weapons Ban in the works...

Blago would happily sign ANY anti-gun bill that hits his desk. Man can't balance a budget... is widely hated by any clear-thinking individual that has a sense of history and is educated enough to be able to spell CONSTITUTION and BILL OF RIGHTS. You're delusional if you think we're not heading down the same path as California -- or worse.

The IL class 3 NFA ban was lifted briefly (for like 4 mo's) in the early 80's---sometimes it gets picked up as a 'new' story from tribune archives and such (this might be the source of the idea???).

I remember when that happened. All was good until someone in the Chicago media made a big issue out of the story. Suddenly Jim Thompson who signed the legislation, made some inane statement like "I didn't realize that's what the legislation did." The old I was tricked defense :barf: and the BATF conveniently agreed not to process any applications until Illinois made it illegal again.

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate Chicago? If we are destined to lose a major city in a terrorist attack, I would gladly sacrifice Chicago.

I never thought I'd find someone that agreed with me, I hate Chicago. I was raised in the suburbs of Chicago and I know what the gun laws were like there, I wouldn't mind sacrificing Chicago either. I am glad to live in the gunshine state now.
