I've been enjoying my Timberwolf .357 mag for a number of years with a scope, with QD rings, since it has very nice iron sights on it, which see-through the integral Pic. rail.

However, I've noticed that there's literally no way to get your head low enough to actually use them, because the buttstock is in the way.

Now I know that the stock angle is adjustable, via a 7-slot "tooth mechanism" that you can easily adjust - but what I mean is, even with the stock in the lowest possible position, and my head pinched down so hard on the stock that it's digging into my cheekbone, the top of the front sight appears a good inch above the rear notch.

So what gives? Is it like this with all of them? I love this rifle - I take it to the range probably more than any other rifle - but I've now given up on using the factory sights as a BUIS. This is disappointing given how nice they are and since I was contemplating taking this rifle back to a no-scope rifle due to my successful cataract surgeries. Did the Israelis have their heads up their butts, or is something wrong with my gun and/or its operator?

I've encountered a few rifles that I could not get down low enough on to actually see through the sights where other people didn't have a problem. My 1898 krag was one of them. I had a friend who wanted me to shoot his AR15 one weekend years ago but I could not see though the scope. I had to hold my head sideways on the stock. I can't remember which one but my father in law also has a rifle that I can only see through the scope by holding my head sideways. Perhaps you have big cheek bones.

Interesting; thanks. That may be the case. I will re-iterate my wish for IMI (or someone) to bring these back, please. I want another one in .44 Mag.
