IMR 4227 issues

I never cared much for 4227, it just doesn't give me what I like. As for the poor combustion, I noticed that as well when my loads were at the lower end of the table.

I would venture to bet, that if you work that charge up, and use a good stout roll crimp, the problem will disappear, it worked for me. Magnum primers probably won't completely solve the issue, it's a pressure issue related issue, not ignition. You can still use a magnum primer if desired, but it's not likely to solve the problem.

I don't like to fiddle around when it comes to magnum performance, I go straight to the big dog ( 296 / H110) for magnum loads, and me knows my magnum loads. But again, it's a powder that absolutely needs it's pressure to obtain good combustion, however, it does need a magnum primer to light it. Watch the big dog bark!
