I've fired a lot of suppressed firearms. I own a handful of suppressors. Recently I acquired a Beretta 92-A1 and the barrel is being threaded this weekend. I happen to see a YouTube video of a guy complaining that he was getting a lot of blowback from the suppressor on his 92, compared to his M&P 9mm.

Has anyone experienced this? Could this be caused by the slide not covering the barrel, acting as a deflector? I'm running an AAC Evo-9 w/o the booster spring.

Please share your experience.

i get a lot of blowback in my Beretta 71 (22lr), which the slide design is similar to the 92. As a general rule, suppressors are going to create backpressure and you will get gas and other stuff back at you. The severity also depends on ammo, as some 9mm ammo is dirtier than others.

Swap your booster spring with a fixed spacer on your can and drop your recoil spring 1LB on your Beretta. You'll have less recoil and less stress on the firearm and can. As far as blowback that is all dependent on the can type, ammo type and wether or not you are shooting dry or wet.

I can kind of reinforce what Ironman says about type of weapon making a difference ... I've got an Octane 45 suppressor that I get blowback debris in my face when l'm shooting it on my SiG TACOPS 1911, other guns such as my Glock 21 & HK Tactical it's not a problem ...

What caught my attention is that I've seen You-Tubes that the Octane-45 is more effective than the Octane-9 on 9mm guns so I've been thinking about getting threaded barrels for my Glock 19 & Beretta 92 ... Sounds like I'll just have to try it and see what happens.
