I recently picked up a GSG-5 (HK MP5 Clone that shoots .22lr). It's a very cool little gun and am planning on picking up some accessories. First among them is a mount/Red dot scope.

An Aimpoint/Eotech is outside what i'm willing to spend, and I'm planning on picking up an EOtech for my AR. Two expensive scopes is more than my budget can afford, and it doesn't make much sense for me to put a $500 scope on a $500 rifle that's pretty much worthless beyond 100 yards.

I was planning on getting a knock off aimpoint...maybe a sightmark, barska, leapers for $50 bucks or so. It won't need to be military durable or capable of scuba diving depths, just an inexpensive but reliable (can keep it's zero) plinking scope.

Any ideas?

I've had good luck with an el-cheapo BSA that ran me $40. Big field of view, no problems with it on my HiPoint carbine after about 4 years of use.
