info on a 1911

A friend has a GI 1911 he's looking for information on.
Its a .45 US Army M1911A1, #901375, Colts PT FA MFG CO. Its in pretty good shape, he's wondering approximate value, and year of manufacture.

"Pretty good shape" is a poor descriptive term. Value is going to be based on condition of the finish and originality of all its parts. It could be worth $1000 or it could be worth $300.
