Informing the local sheriff in Ohio of NFA possessions

As I was filling out the Ohio CCW paperwork I noticed that I have to inform the local Sherriff of my NFA possessions. Just found this interesting and thought I'd share. BTW, I did get approval from the ATF to transfer the items from Arizona to Ohio. Thanks for the tread here that helped me realize the need.

If you are filling out the paperwork for a CHL and not NFA, you don't need to fill that out.

It has to do with the OH law passed that forced the Sheriffs to sign NFA paperwork with Shall Sign verbiage. The law was tied in with CHL permits as the Sheriffs were allowed to charge a fee for the service. It also got tied in due to the request for backround checks being involved. Basically the law says they have to do it, but they can charge, and that charge would be the same as the existing CHL fee.

Now that the CLEO sig changed to CLEO notification its kind of a moot point
