Found an inland carbine at my local gun store for $680.00. Just wondering if this is a good price. It has all the original parts and a clean bore. It was once an M2 converted back to M1 semi-auto. Thanks for any suggestions.
Value depends or whether it has the correct parts. If it was converted at one point and then changed back, the likelihood that the parts are original is not high. If it is original the price is a steal. I suggest checking the parts count.
If it is as you say you cant own it without a Tax Stamp
Once a full auto always a full auto in the AFT's eyes. If receiver is marked M2 ,even if it cant fire full auto run the other way
I'd be skeptical. How does it have original parts, if it began life as an M2? (Orlando is right, AFAIK.) Did you check out all the parts against a good reference, or did this info (all original parts) come from the gun shop?
it's not out of line. depending on condition it could be a little over or under priced, but you're going to be hard pressed to find any GI m1 carbines for less than 600. check out gunbroker to see what roughly what some stuff is going for.
