im sorting through some pulled plated 9mm I bought from RMR. Found 1 bullet that looks questionable to me but thought I would ask. This is my first experience with pulled bullets.

See gouge on the side? What say ye?

I have sorted through several thousand RMR pulled plated 9mm bullets and shot over a thousand.

For each thousand pulled bullets, I have found up to a few bullets that look like OP's and toss them as seating them is a no-go.

Rest of pulled bullets have shot surprisingly well. I have used them for defensive/point shooting training/drills and accuracy has been to point of aim at defensive shooting distances.

Agreed. Bad seating job. I'd pitch it, or give it to a friend who casts to melt down. I've given away a few pounds worth of fouled-up bullets over the years to my buddies who aren't as scare of lead fumes as I am!

Well, the consensus is in and it supports what I thought too! I agree these had plenty of crimp.

And I agree, not at all RMR’s fault. They more than made up for the couple that were mangled. I had 1,055 good bullets from the “1,000” count bag.

Thanks everyone!

Here is what it says in the listing.

They have been pulled and many of them have some decent pull marks. The pull marks should not affect loading or accuracy of the bullet at all, but just in case some are unusable we are throwing in quite a few extra to make up for any that are rejects. We have not sorted through any of these so the price is very cheap because some may be unusable. You really should sort through these before you load them.

Yeah, as the description says in the listing, some may be unusable but we send lots of extras to make up for any that you have to throw away.

Absolutely! No complaints from me.

Just making sure my thinking was correct. No sense throwing away something usable, but on the other hand don’t try to save a penny and waste. dollars.

Yep, hard to beat that when you end up getting more than what you paid for.

To the OP, i would throw those out for sure! Why chance it.

I tried pulled plated bullets in the past. It concerned me when i found they were crimped so hard and undersized, that they were useless to load. Plated bullets aren`t that stout. Copper jacketed bullets are a little more stout, i`ve tried those before, they wernt anything to brag about, but doable. But i stopped buying them all together anymore. I found that my accuracy wasnt as good as i hoped for. And brand new bullets aren`t THAT much more money. I`ll stick to new. That way i dont waste my time having to do all this checking that your should be doing with pulled bullets, plated or otherwise. I guess if they`re working for some of you guys, thats very KOOL!
